Aphrodisia is situated 55km away from Chios Town and 13km from Volissos.
It is a pleasant village built in an amphitheatric design, located in a forest in the east side of Amani mountain, rich of spring waters, and from here one can enjoy an astonishing view of the Pelinneo mountain. The name of this village comes from the goddess Aphrodite: verbal traditions handed down generation by generation say that a Temple of Aphrodite should be buried below the current Teacher’s room, under the church of Saint Mamas.
