Volissos
Volissos (former name Thucydides' Voliskos) is situated about 40 km away from Chios Town, it is the capital of the Municipality of Amani and the biggest village of the North-West area of the island, with a population of about 500 inhabitants. According to the tradition, Volissos is said to be the native city of Homer and some experts state that here the great poet wrote “Vatrachomiomachia”, a parody of Iliad.
