Parparia

Parparia is a small village of farmers and cattle-breeders at 300 meters of altitude at the west mountainside of Amani, 54km far away from Chios Town and 13km from Volissos.
Parparia is a really ancient site: Stavros Stefanidis has been studying the history and origin of this village after he found an old map of Chios in the Koraes Library telling that Parparia was at least almost 600 years old.

Trypes

Trypes, which is situated 57km far away from Chios Town, is a village whose peculiarity is to be built from stone by the local craftsmen. In the area surrounding the village you will find several chapels, a cave, which is almost unknown, called “Kalogerotripa”, and also an old mill, which has

not been operating since 1970, the year when the inhabitants of Trypes stopped cultivating wheat. Tourists who would like to have a swim can go to Ezousa beach. The local festival takes place on September 1st.
