Nenitouria is a small village 65km far away from Chios Town and only about 20km from Volissos. It is situated in a dale on the mountainside of Amani, surrounded by olive trees, pine trees, plane trees, oak trees and bushes. It is composed of 4 districts, namely Psaros, Kosmados, Hametos and Antrahlias (now uninhabited). The people who live here are not that many and their houses are scattered across 3 districts, but they
take advantage of the church of Taxiarchis, which has an important
belfry and a stoned kiosk, as a meeting place. On the river side you
can find the chapel of Panaghia Evagelistria, built on a dome basis,
and also the old windmills.
About 5km from Nenitouria there is a picturesque beach whose name comes from its old chapel dedicated to Agios Georgios Krasas.
