Pispilounta
Pispilounta is a mountainous village situated at the east foothill of Amani, 49km far away from Chios Town, near the Spatounda – Potamia road, that connects the two mountainous regions of Amani and Pelinneo. Several ancient findings that date back to the classical Greek times were discovered here and are now exhibit in the Archaelogical Museum of Chios Town. In the village you can find a church dedicated to Saints Constantine and Helen, which are celebrated on May 21st. Interesting and worth visiting is the medieval settlement of Tamarkou (2km southeast of Pispilounta).
